![]() ![]() To see Steinman (the melodramatic writer behind Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell) is the author of many of the tracks here, and they have his typical rock & roll trademark, especially when the backup group consists of members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. What is strange for 8 bit conversions was that Yuzo Koshiro also handled those soundtracks too (Coming off of his work on Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System and Game Gear). Mixing in flashes of rave and trance, Streets of Rage II is as maybe more renowned for the soundtrack than the awesome gameplay. Yuzo Koshiro continued his work from the original, by introducing more early 90s influences such as The Shamen, into the soundtrack. ![]() Decades later and this game still hasn’t been topped for it’s superb music, great fighting and sublime co-operative play. Streets of Rage continued Sega’s legacy as a great arcade beat-em-up creator (Following Golden Axe), however it was Streets of Rage II that cemented the series as one of the best ever made. ![]()
